Eagle Cap Clinic

Intermediate to Advanced Saddle up and join us in this wonderland of glacial lakes, miles of streams, hundreds of breathtaking mountain peaks, and spectacular open meadows abundant with wildlife. During the summer months, the forested canyons and open hillside tops are filled with a variety of songbirds, deer and rocky mountain elk.

Advanced This advanced clinic will take you into the high mountains, exploring alpine meadows, glacial lakes, federally designated "wild and scenic" rivers for knock-your-socks-off views that will fill your days. Elk and deer wander in the alpine meadows and an occasional mountain goat might appear on a rocky peak. This clinic is for advanced riders and horses. Camps are nestled in the pines near alpine lakes and along the Imnaha River.

The wilderness will be our "Natural Training Classroom". We strive to keep all of our rides fun and relaxing while offering a progressive "clinic or lesson" experience. We begin our first day with Natural Horsemanship Training and Safety Trail and Wilderness Preparation. We progress each new day with a morning lesson and then find opportunities to put what you've learned to practice as we cross streams and rivers, visit alpine lakes, traverse grassland hillsides and canyon ridges, maneuver over and around downed trees, navigate rock croppings, trot and lope in the meadows and grassland benches.

Evenings by the campfire will be filled with learning useful knots, history of the area, backcountry packing, Dutch oven success secrets, and discussions on the day's challenges and rewards, if you can stay awake.

Each ride includes:

  • Well-appointed lodging in one of our private cabins or lodge rooms
  • Western hospitality and delicious hearty meals both on and off the trail
  • Exceptional "Natural Horsemanship" instruction
  • Experienced backcountry wranglers to provide a safe and fun wilderness vacation
  • Comfy accommodations for your furry equine partners while at the lodge
  • All tents, cots and meals (vegetarian and gluten free available) provided while in the back country.

Just imagine . . . a million stars uninterrupted by city lights . . . the call of the wild . . . night owls, tree frogs, coyote songs . . . friendly conversation around a warm and glowing campfire . . . sharing an enchanting western experience that makes you feel like you’re in cowgirl heaven!
